Fireman's Coat
Japanese firefighter's naga hanten 半纏 (heavier weight coat made popular in the 18th century) with sashiko 刺し子 (traditional hand stitching or quilting used as reinforcement and decoration) throughout. The coat is made from multiple layers of cotton held together with upwards of 100 stitches per square inch. Tsutsugaki筒描 (resist dye technique), pattern application.
Striped pattern on one side with a large kanji in a circle in the back and a front that features untranslated kanji on the lapel. On the reverse the back shows wear in one line along the center and the front features the crew issue number.
