Spectacular two-section isho dansu (clothing chest) from the town of Ogi on Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. Ogi clothing chests are known for their ornate hand-forged iron hardware in the cloud form and larger size.Ā  The family crest of the orignal owner in silver adorns the safe compartment. There is plenty of room to accommodate a modern American's clothing storage needs, while not losing the stunning look of a Meiji Era tansu. Japanese antique furniture.
