Gyosho bako (peddler's box). Gyosho bako are typically carried as a backpack or hanging from a pole that is carried over the shoulder.  This chest originally had rings mounted on the side to guide the carrying ropes.  The rings could be remounted upon request.  This piece was originally used to store medicines and various herbal remedies.
